Royal China Restaurant Review, Harrow

Don’t you just love date nights? This time for some much needed Chinese cuisine (I’ve been craving it for a while) at Royal China based in Harrow.

We had an early booking which was nice as the restaurant wasn’t at its busiest. On entering Royal China you will be surprised by the interior, it’s very modern and elegant giving it that very high end restaurant look that you find in central London.

Once seated were given our menus, which included the main al a carte menu, a specials menu and a wine list. The menu is great for groups as set menus are available and perfect for vegetarians too, with a wide variety too choose from.  If you’re also in need of cocktails, Royal China’s cocktail list is good too. We were also given a few nibbles to start with, which included pickles and peanuts, which made a nice welcome.

By this time I was starving and so from the specials menu we decided on the Dim Sum platter which included 3 portions each of the following: Prawn Dumplings, Vegetarian Dumplings and Scallops Dumplings. Being a hug fan of dim sum, we both enjoyed all the choices within the platter and were all cooked to perfection, very tasty.

For started we also decided on the Prawns Tempura with chili and garlic, which was nice and tasty and Chicken with Vegetables Lettuce Wraps, although this was something different, it was appetising but very bland in taste.

Onto the main course, and the selection was Sautéed Chicken in a Pepper Black Bean sauce, accompanied by Egg Fried Rice. It was delicious, the quality of the chicken was great and the black bean sauce accompanied with peppers and onions was lovely

Having been to a few local Chinese restaurants including Yi-Ban in Eastcote, Royal China is lovely with good food, even though it’s on the slightly pricey end, the food is very tasty but even though service is slow, staff are very friendly.
