Being first of the many double dates the chosen venue was the Cabana Brazilian Barbecue Restaurant at the London Designer Outlet in Wembley with a couple that I’ve known for years…happy days!
Once entering Cabana your hit with that holiday vibe, the restaurant is vibrant with great interior including Brazilian wall art and a cabana style hut bar which I loved, and the music playing in the background makes it a fun atmosphere.
We started the night with a few cocktails, beers and starters that included Spicy Malaqueta Prawns, basted with spicy malagueta sauce (£5.95). I must say the prawns and cocktails were delish! I loved the funky napkins too.
Moving into the mains we decided on the following: spicy malagueta chicken (£8.95) which is a whole skewer of spicy sticky chicken marinated in spicy malagueta sauce, a zingy lime and garlic whole skewer of chicken marinated in a mild lime and garlic sauce (£7.95) which I opted for. And lastly the Beirut which is a toasted flatbread filled with spicy malagueta chicken tomato, lettuce, chilli mayo and melted cheese.
To accompany the mains we decided on a few sides which included: french fries, tossed with rosemary and garlic (£3.45), sweet potato fries sprinkled with paprika (£3.95), buttered corn on the cob, (£3.35), and Biro-Biro rice named after the footballer, which is long grain rice with garlic, herbs and spring onions (£2.95)
The presentation of all the food was good, the taste however was average, I wasn’t so keen on the zingy lime and garlic chicken it was too tangy for my liking, however the malaueta chicken had a more positive review from the diners, my favourite were the sweet potato fries, which made a change from regular fries.
Although the dessert menu looked interested we decided to share the banana and Nutella pastel (£4.95) between four as were were pretty stuffed. It consisted of two crisp pastries with hot Nutella, banana and vanilla ice cream. Apologies for no picture but, although it was difficult to cut into it was nice, but nothing special.
Cabana Brazilian restaurant is great for a fun filled evening where cocktails and food are good, service was a tad slow for our liking but staff were friendly which makes up for it. The end experience of Cabana is different to any restaurant I have been to as the bill arrives with a pot of coloured bracelets, where you make a wish and wear the coloured bracelet until it falls off.
Overall Cabana is great for meat eaters, cocktails are good and on the plus side you also get to take in the views of Wembley Stadium.
