Burj Al Arab Afternoon Tea Review, Jumeriah Dubai

One of the ways to see the 7 star rated hotel in Dubai without spending over £1000 per night, is by booking the Burj Al Arab afternoon tea package either at the skyview bar or at the Sahn Eddar which is what my husband booked.

On arrival to the hotel you somewhat feel very exclusive, everything from security checks before entering the hotel to the greeting on arrival is all posh nosh.

Before heading to the atrium where the Sahn Eddar afternoon tea is located, you are able to the interior of the hotel, golds, blues, water fountains, big fish tanks alongside the escalator, it was all very fancy.

On arrival to the atrium we were early but without hesitation the staff showed up to our beach view table. It was all lovely including a lady on the piano playing classical sounds throughout our 7 course afternoon tea.

With our dedicated waiter for the experience we started with some date juice, being pregnant I was glad this was the option, and it was lovely. Followed by tea of your choice from the list.

The first dish was the white chocolate with green apple, this was so fresh and a great way to start the afternoon tea experience.

The assortment of finger sandwiches was next which included classic smoked salmon and crab meat, coronation chicken, egg and cress, cucumber and mint sandwiches. I opted for the vegetarian menu, and got a few more of the vegetarian selections. These sandwiches were so fresh in flavour all presented on different types of bread, which meant each finger sandwich had its own unique taste.

Next was the very tasty Mediterranean tartlette stuffed with ratatouille olives and feta cheese;

And now for a breather we were given the delicious lychee sorbet, which was light and refreshing just what you needed after the carb load;

An afternoon tea isn’t complete without freshly baked scones. This was served with Devonshire clotted cream and homemade preserves and boy was it good, I’ve never been much of a fab of scones and have just started to get into them and boy where these good and so fresh.

And to end the experience we were given a variety of French pastries to choose from. I opted for the strawberry and almond.

Overall it was an excellent experience and the best afternoon tea that I have been to. Although be warned it is expensive, but worth it for a special treat.
